SIDE NOTE:
At Peterson Planetarium, audiences of all ages can learn about the solar system, gaze at stars and even participate in STEM activities. Our programming serves a variety of community and University audiences.
The planetarium is an educational outreach of the Science and Math Education Center and serves as a teaching facility for various university courses, as well as local school districts and the community. The theatre seats 38 under a 24-foot projection screen dome.
The Planetarium is located at the south end of Science Hall, just north of the campus library located on the corner of 12th Ave. and Merchant Street. You’ll find elevators available for planetarium access and room for wheel chairs.
Metered parking is available north of Science Hall; permit parking only available for free after 4:30 pm. Nearby street parking available on 13th Street.
They take special requests such as K-12 classes or after school programs, university or community groups, birthdays, pre-game, and campus tours for groups of 5-38 visitors.
