SIDE NOTE:
On the third Friday of every month throughout the year, faculty, students and friends of the TU Physics, Astronomy, and Geosciences Department give presentations at the planetarium. The Friday evening shows are open to the public. They usually include a tour of the night sky and discussion of topics in astronomy.
Their all-new Planetarium was built by Spitz, Inc. in 2021. The SciDome presentation system projects simulations from StarryNight, The Layered Earth, Zygote Body, and full dome video through two 4K Canon projectors. The state-of-the-art NanoSeam dome ensures an immersive 4K-by-4K ultra-high-definition image. The quadraphonic sound system allows for an extra dimension of experience as you tour the cosmos.
Parking is available — free from 6 p.m on Friday through Sunday — in the Glen Parking Garage which is directly across from the Science Complex. Entrance is from Cross Campus Drive.
