Pat Thomas Planetarium

SIDE NOTE:

The Pat Thomas Planetarium is part of the Physics department at Florida State University. It has been in operation since 1982. It was recently upgraded to a state-of-the-art digital system with high definition projectors, powerful computers and advanced software. They can project 360° images of great beauty and realism.

They welcome members of the general public, including families, community service organizations, Scout troops, clubs, students, etc. If you’d like to reserve the planetarium, fill out the form on their “booking a visit” page.

The Pat Thomas Planetarium is free, however, they specialize in ‘group’ shows, requiring a minimum of 8 guests per booking. Since they book on a “first come, first served” basis, it pays to book as early as possible.

Check website for on-campus directions and parking instructions as it appears to be a little complicated. You’ll find detailed maps on their website.
