SIDE NOTE:
Opened in the fall of 2018, the Planetarium is located in the Cole STEM building. It provides a unique teaching and learning space not only for the science of astronomy but for all STEM fields. To reflect SFASU’s commitment to informal education and service to the community, the planetarium offers public shows and school field trip opportunities.
As one of the newest centers on our list, the SFASU planetarium features one of the most sophisticated systems in the state of Texas. It has a 50-foot diameter nano-seam dome and a state-of-the-art 4K Digistar 6 projection system. This system can project the night sky of stars and planets as seen from anywhere on the Earth with digital precision.
Parking: Paid parking is also available at the nearby Student Center Parking Garage located across the traffic circle from the Planetarium ($2/hr).
